WUC Wrestling 2018 is coming to an end in the capital of Goiás. This Saturday, 47 bouts were played in the Rio Vermelho gymnasium. Now, only Greco-Roman style categories remain to elect their champions. The podiums for the categories -55kg, -63kg, -72kg, -82kg and -97kg were announced today.

Of five categories, Turkey climbed the highest point of the podium 4 times, proving supremacy in the Greco-Roman style. The -82kg champion, Burhan Akbudak, explains why they were able to stand out: “We have come to represent and honor our country. We trained hard every day and came to demonstrate that effort here. This is a very strong sport in Turkey, so it’s very important for us. ”

His delegation colleague and champion of the category -72kg, Murad Dag, says: “From the base we have very strong wrestling teams, it’s a very traditional sport in Turkey and we’ve invested a lot of money into it. We see victory as our mark. ” Murad is also excited about the experience WUC wrestling has brought him: “I really enjoyed everything here .. the hotel, the food, the reception of the people and everyone who worked in the organization and helped us. We’re going home very grateful for everything”.
